COLONEL’S CORNER
THE ELECTION APPROACHES
“America First, Party Second”
Michael Bendas
Republican Candidate
3d Congressional District
This Email is long, but it is worth taking 5
minutes to read.
It is OUR country, time for WE THE PEOPLE
to take it back!!
Who is Mike Bendas?
MICHAEL
BENDAS
is a graduate of West Point (US Military
Academy) and retired from the Army as a
Colonel.
As a business consultant, he helps
small and medium sized businesses to compete
in today’s environment, to grow and to
create jobs.
He is a fiscal conservative that
believes that every American should have a
chance to succeed by being raised in a crime
free atmosphere and have educational
opportunities to make reaching the American
dream possible.
He hates political corruption and
nepotism.
My opponent, Congressman Dan Lipinski votes
over 95% of the time with the Pelosi wing of
the House.
He supports the big spending bills,
and contrary to what he has professed he is
NOT
a fiscal conservative.
We are approaching one of the most critical
elections in the last fifty years.
Americans trusted the Democratic
Party with the Presidency, 60% of the Senate
and 59% of the House of Representatives.
These are huge majorities!
WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE?
Spending is out of control with no end in
sight
The deficit
is projected by the CBO (relatively
independent Congressional Budget Office) to
be at or near
1
TRILLION DOLLARS PER YEAR indefinitely.
It is incumbent on each generation to pay
their own debts - - - Thomas Jefferson
Jefferson
makes sense, doesn’t he?
Ø
Dan
Lipinski has been a reliable vote for the
Pelosi budgets.
Ø
Lipinski
voted “Present” (not YES, not NO) on the
$800,000,000,000 stimulus bill, then told
Crain’s magazine that it was too small.
Yes, that is YOUR money.
Ø
Mike Bendas
will oppose spending increases and will work
to cut the deficit by $100 billion each year
he is in office until we have a surplus and
are paying down the debt that will be passed
to the next generation.
Ø
Mike will
work to eliminate the Energy Department
which costs $24 billion per year, has 16,000
employees and has failed in its mission
since 1977.
9+ million Americans cannot find jobs
The
“stimulus” bill with $800 billion of YOUR
money was a reward to certain groups for the
last election.
There were no real incentives to
businesses to grow and start hiring.
We
are losing jobs because of unfair trade
practices by China and other nations.
Ø
Dan
Lipinski’s answer was to write legislation
which created another federal bureaucracy to
study how other nations create jobs.
Ø
Mike Bendas
understands that we know what needs to be
done.
·
Give banks
a direct incentive, e.g. kick in the butt,
to increase business loans
·
Reduce the
red tape for business by eliminating
unnecessary regulations and simplifying the
ones still needed.
·
Reduce
business taxes from 35% to 20%, other
industrialized nations who are our
competitors are at 15-20% which helps their
exports, hence jobs.
·
Demand that
China let their currency float freely on the
international market which could create over
500,000 jobs, or freeze their imports to the
U.S. if they continue to practice currency
manipulation.
·
Demand that
our trading partners respect US patents and
intellectual property rights.
Ø
Mike will
propose legislation to pay employers $1500
per month for 24 months for each job that
they create and hire a person to fill.
This is designed to lower the hiring
threshold for businesses during this time of
uncertainty.
·
For 1/8th
of the cost of the stimulus bill we could
employ 3,000,000 Americans who will pay
payroll taxes, income taxes and their houses
will not go into foreclosure.
·
They will
buy products which will create more jobs.
·
This will
NOT be a permanent government program, it
will end when unemployment drops below 7%
for a fiscal quarter.
Unions are rewarded for their hundreds of
millions of dollars spent on Democrats
The unions
are huge supporters of the Democratic Party.
In the this election three of the
public employee unions have spent
over
$170 MILLION supporting Democrats.
The
takeover of the auto companies was a bailout
of the UAW’s overly generous benefit plans.
YOU, the taxpayer, pumped billions
into those plans which pay pensions that
you could only dream about.
Obama
signed a Presidential Directive (PD) that
required that all federal construction
projects over $25 million be awarded to
companies with a Project Labor Agreement
(PLA), defined as a union agreement.
This freezes out non-union companies
and employees from federal projects.
This is unfair, un-American and
unconstitutional.
Ø
Dan
Lipinski supports the unions totally.
Seven of his top 10 contributors are
unions, all of them contributed the maximum
permitted by law.
Ø
Lipinski is
a co-sponsor of a bill to eliminate the
right of a secret ballot for the union
forming election, e.g. card check.
Ø
Mike Bendas
is worker oriented.
He supports the worker’s right to
form a union, but strongly opposes card
check which is pro-union leadership but
anti-worker.
Ø
Mike
adamantly supports the idea that any
credible, competent company should be able
to bid on a federal contract.
This will save the country billions
of dollars.
Ø
It will
give minority and other non-union workers
the same right to work on a contract as a
union based company.
End the Entitlement mentality, and get
America back to Individual Responsibility
America become great through individualism,
e.g. we were responsible for ourselves.
We took risks, worked endless hours
to create businesses that dominated the
world, and we reaped the rewards.
We are becoming a society of entitlements.
It is time to get back to our core
values.
A single mother and three children if one of
them has been “diagnosed” with ADD or ADHD
can collect over $41,000 per year.
There is absolutely no incentive to
get a job.
Ø
Mike Bendas believes in a “Hand Up, Not a
Hand Out”.
Ø
Mike will propose to replace government
college loan and grant programs with
a
National Volunteer Service (NVS) so that
every child, rich or poor, can attend
college or a trade school.
The NVS would provide opportunities
in many governmental agencies from the
national parks to health care to
agriculture, etc.
·
After two
years of service the volunteer will receive
a benefit similar to that of the military
services.
·
NVS
volunteers will have access to online
college and trade courses during their
service to help them get a head start on
their career.
·
Older
Americans could join and serve in the NVS.
They could elect to have their earned
benefits be applied to their Social Security
account to improve their retirement.
·
NVS
volunteers can replace some of the
governmental bureaucrats who earn an average
of $120,000 per year including their pension
and benefits, thus helping to reduce the
deficit.
Ø
Mike Bendas will work on legislation to stop
the abuse of the Social Security Disability
Insurance system.
There are too many folks who could
work but choose not to do so.
You and I are paying for that
abuse.
Ø
Mike will fight the latest scam which is to
get children with minimal attention
challenges, that would have been considered
normal a decade or two ago, diagnosed with
ADD or ADHD so that they can get tens of
thousands of dollars a year of governmental
benefits.
Term Limits
When people, even honest ones, are in power
too long, the temptations are too great.
Our founding fathers intended that
the Congress be made up of citizens from
every walk of life.
Ø
Mike Bendas is committed to introducing an
Amendment to the US Constitution to limit
Representatives to the House to 12 years of
service, and Senators to 18 years in
Congress.
Ø
Mike will also look at campaign financing to
reduce the advantage that the incumbent has
in Congressional races.
Mike Bendas will work with Republicans, Blue
Dog Democrats (fiscally conservative
Democrats who believe in a strong national
defense) and other Congressmen who believe
in fiscally conservative and family values
to pass legislation to stem this nation’s
drift, or race, to become an entitlement
society and to “redistribute” people’s hard
earned income.
I,
Michael Bendas,
request your vote to represent you in the US
Congress.
If I fail to do a good job, fire me
in 2 years!
