The Cook County Republican Party is being revitalized by Lee Roupas, the party Chairman. Excellent source of information for the Cook County races. Chicago Republican Party

The Chicago Republican Party under the leadership of Eloise Gerson has become increasingly proactive and energetic. There is a growing interest among the city’s residents in developing a true two party system of government and to end the long period of dictatorial rule. The party is gearing up for the 2010 Cook County elections as a precursor for the Chicago elections following shortly thereafter.

Chicago Young Republicans

The Chicago Young Republicans (YRs) are a rapidly expanding force in the metropolitan area. They are energetic, knowledgeable and focused on raising awareness and support for conservative ideals. They are becoming a significant force in Chicago politics and can be expected to drive the future of the Republican Party in the Chicago metropolitan area.

Chicago Republican Women’s Network

CRWN is a growing influence within the party and provides an excellent opportunity for women to meet like minded Republicans. They are actively supporting candidates and have regular meetings to socialize and to discuss issues of the day. Men can become associate members.

Republican National Hispanic Assembly of Illinois

The RNHA is actively working to expand the base of the Republican Party to the Hispanic Community. The 3d Congressional District has 63,000 registered voters with Hispanic surnames. In the past they have voted overwhelmingly Democratic, but there are strong indications of a change for this conservatively oriented voter group. Angel Garcia, one the key RNHA leaders, is running for Cook County Clerk.

Aljazeera

The English version of the well known Arabic new service. Gives a different view of international events that helps the reader understand the perceptions, correct or not, of people in the Middle East. Not as radical as one would expect, although the English version is likely more edited and toned down to appeal to western audiences.
